Citizens Privacy Coalition

Founded in the wake of the George Floyd movement in 2020, the Citizens Privacy Coalition of Santa Clara County started off as a watchdog movement that aimed at combating the lack of oversight and awareness surrounding the state of government and corporate surveillance in San José.

In September 2021, CPCSCC joined San José Strong where they focused on educational efforts through initial workshops and collaboration with other local community organizations creating a series of workshops around the topic of data and surveillance technology in the city. This coalition focuses on educational efforts and community outreach to inform the residents of San Jose about surveillance and data policies enacted. CPCSCC is currently being spearheaded by Kalesi Budei.
